Dans le contexte des Jeux Olympiques de l’OTAN 2024 l’équipe de triathlon de l’OTAN (Brussels Ironman NATO) vous propose de participer à une compétition de natation en eaux libres. Le site retenu est le bassin d’aviron de la fédération belge d’aviron qui est situé à Hazewinkel (Malines) dans le domaine de Sport Vlaanderen. Ce site est exclusivement réservé aux sports nautiques non motorisés ce qui garantit une qualité d’eau conforme à la natation en eaux libre.

In the context of the 2024 NATO Olympic Games, the NATO triathlon team (Brussels Ironman NATO) invites you to participate in an open water swimming competition. The selected site is the rowing basin of the Belgian rowing federation which is located in Hazewinkel (Mechelen) in the Sport Vlaanderen domain. This site is exclusively reserved for non-motorized water sports, which guarantees water quality consistent with open water swimming.

Nous vous offrons deux dates pour participer à cette épreuve et ainsi représenter votre nation et éventuellement monter sur le podium. Les dates retenues sont les mardis 21 et 28 mai 2024. La distance retenue pour cette épreuve est de 1200m ce qui devrait permettre au plus grand nombre de participer. Les départs sont libres entre 18h30 et 19h30. Natation en ligne droite à partir du ponton avec un demi-tour à la seconde bouée située à 500m. Le retour se fait le long du couloir qui est à côté du chemin de halage. Le temps est pris dés votre retour sur le ponton. Vous pouvez opter pour nager avec ou sans combinaison de néoprène. Si vous optez pour la natation sans combinaison vous devrez avoir une bouée de sécurité. Si vous n’en avez pas le club peut vous en fournir au prix de 30 euros. Si vous nagez en combinaison alors un handicap de 25’’ sera appliqué sur votre temps final. Vous pouvez choisir de nager un des deux mardis ou les deux alors nous ne retiendrons que votre meilleur chrono pour le classement final. Un classement est prévu pour les trois premiers athlètes masculins et les trois premières féminines. Un classement par nation sera établi en additionnant les temps des trois meilleurs nageurs(eusses) de chaque nation. La remise des prix se fera le weekend du 1 & 2 juin au centre sportif de l’OTAN où se teindront l’ensemble des cérémonies protocolaires.

We offer you two dates to participate in this event and thus represent your nation and possibly get on the podium. The dates selected are Tuesday May 21 and 28, 2024. The distance chosen for this event is 1200m which should allow as many people as possible to participate. Free starts between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Swimming in a straight line from the pontoon with a U-turn at the second buoy located 500m away. The return is along the lane  which is next to the towpath. The time is taken as soon as you return to the pontoon. You can opt to swim with or without a neoprene wetsuit. If you choose to swim without a wetsuit you will need to have a safety buoy. If you do not have one, the club can provide you with one for 30 euros. If you swim in a wetsuit then a handicap of 25” will be applied to your final time. You can choose to swim one of the two Tuesdays or both so we will only use your best time for the final ranking. A ranking is planned for the first three male athletes and the first three female athletes. A ranking by nation will be established by adding the times of the three best swimmers from each nation. The awards ceremony will take place on the weekend of June 1 & 2 at the NATO sports center where all the protocol ceremonies will take place.

 

Le centre nautique dispose de toutes les facilités nécessaires pour le confort des participants ; vestiaires & douches ainsi qu’un club house pour prendre une boisson après l’effort. Deux maitres-nageurs seront également sur place pour garantir la sécurité du plan d’eau.

The nautical center has all the necessary facilities for the comfort of participants; locker rooms & showers as well as a club house to have a drink after exercise. Two lifeguards will also be on site to guarantee the safety of the water.

Pour pouvoir participer vous devez être parmi les catégories de personnel reprises ci=dessous ;

• Pays ayant une délégation au QG de l’OTAN : pays OTAN ou partenaires
• Titulaires d’une carte de famille émise par le bureau de sécurité de l’OTAN
• Membre d’un commandement au QG ou membre du SHAPE
• Les fonctionnaires disposant d’un laissez-passer permanent du QG de Bruxelles
• Les membres d’un club affilié au Clubs sportifs et Culturels de l’OTAN (CCSO)

 

To enable optimal organization, we ask you to register in advance by sending an email to the following address natolympics2024@hq.nato.int with the following data; First and last name, date chosen for swimming, date of birth, country/agency/command/CCSO club, email address and nationality. To be able to participate you must be among the categories of personnel listed below;

- Countries with a delegation to NATO HQ: NATO or partner countries

- Holders of a family card issued by the NATO Security Office

- Member of a command at HQ or member of SHAPE

- Civil servants with a permanent pass from Brussels HQ

- Members of a club affiliated to the NATO Sports and Cultural Clubs (CCSO)

Nous vous demandons ensuite de verser 10€ de frais de participation sur le compte du club ; BE77 0689 4675 0642 (BIN OTAN)

Ces 10€ comprennent l’utilisation des facilités, le chronométrage, un bonnet de natation ainsi qu’une médaille souvenir. Il sera également possible de vous inscrire sur place mais svp privilégier la préinscription.

These €10 include use of the facilities, timekeeping, a swimming cap and a souvenir medal. It will also be possible to register on site but please prefer pre-registration.
